According to Vastu Shastra, your temple is the biggest source of positive energy in your home. However, we make some mistakes that can block the positive energy emanating from the temple. Only by avoiding these mistakes can we take advantage of that positive energy and remove all kinds of Vastu defects in the house. According to Vastu Shastra, no temple should have two idols of the same god, such as two Ganeshas, two Shivlingas, or two photos of the same deity. This creates Vastu defects in the house.
Your temple should always have only one photo of a particular deity. Furthermore, you should never have an idol of Shani Maharaj or Nataraja in your home, according to Vastu Shastra. Your temple should always face northeast, as this direction is the direction of the gods. Vastu Shastra outlines several rules related to temples. Today, we will learn what color Shivalinga should be placed in the temple and what are the rules for worshipping it.
Rules for placing a Shivling in the home – According to Vastu Shastra, there should always be only one Shivling in the home, not more than one. Similarly, if you are going to place a Shivling in your home, it should be worshipped regularly every day. When placing a Shivling in your home, you should ensure that it is no larger than the size of your thumb. When placing a Shivling inside the home, it should be small, while when placing it in a temple, it should be larger. A home where a Shivling is worshipped daily is always blessed by Lord Mahadev.
What color Shivling should you keep in your house?
You can keep a white or black Shivalinga in your home. It is considered auspicious to have a white Shivalinga made of crystal or a silver Shivalinga in your home. A home with a Shivalinga removes all Vastu defects. Vastu Shastra states that such a home is never plagued by any trouble.
Keep this in mind
Regularly worship the Shivalinga. Never offer red flowers to the Shivalinga. Always offer Belpatra or white flowers to the Shivalinga. Also, after offering water to the Shivalinga, burn incense and offer naivedya. Then, according to Vastu Shastra, offer white flowers or Belpatra to the Shivalinga. This ensures Lord Shiva's blessings remain in your home.
