According to Vastu Shastra, the puja room of the house should be in the north-east direction. It is also called Ishaan Kon. It is considered auspicious to build a temple or a house of gods in this direction. The puja room is considered to be the center of positive and calm energy. It spreads divine energy in the house. Therefore, it is important to follow some rules in this.
Vastu Upay For Temple in Home: It is very important for people to know what is right and what is wrong in worship in Hinduism. So that your devotion is accepted and you get its full benefits. Many times, unknowingly, we make such mistakes during worship that we do not even realize. Here are some common mistakes that often happen during worship. There is a specific time for each deity and worship. For example, some special worships are prohibited in the evening. Brahma Muhurta (about one and a half hours before sunrise) is considered the best for worship.
According to Vastu expert and Astrology research scholar Acharya Rakesh Mohan Gautam, in Vastu, the east is the direction where the sun rises, the north and northeast are such directions where the gods reside. Here, the deity means auspicious gods and among these directions, the northeast is called the Ishaan angle. This is considered the best direction for a place of worship.
It is important to pay attention to the direction while praying
While worshiping, it is said that your face should be towards the east or north. While deciding the direction, do not forget which way God is facing. The person should sit facing the east or the north while worshiping. This is a general rule but in which direction should a person sit and worship and which direction is the best according to his horoscope. This calculation is done according to the principle of Ashtak Varga in astrology. Similarly, one of the other rules is that fierce deities are kept in the south direction in the temple.
What to do and what not to do
- Deities or temples should never be placed on the kitchen slab, neither in the bedroom of the house nor on a wall that adjoins the toilet.
- The door of the puja room and the toilet door should not face each other.
- The height of the idols should be within 2 inches and 10 inches.
- While performing the puja, the feet of the God should come on the chest of the person because it is believed that the human body below the chest is dirty.
- Nothing other than the material should be kept in the temple of worship.
- For puja, use a copper vessel as far as possible and if that is not possible, use a steel vessel.
- Never keep a triangular idol or a broken idol in the temple.
- Never keep any idol brought from temple anywhere.
- The color of the wall should be light blue or light yellow. The color of the stone should be white.
- One should not go to the temple without taking a bath and if bathing is not possible then at least one should wash the feet before going.
- To wash your feet, pour water with your right hand and wash your feet with your left hand. First wash the back part of your feet, then wash the front part.
- In the end, sprinkle water on your head so that your whole body becomes pure.
- Always keep the cupboard in the temple in the south-west direction.
- Do not keep idols facing each other. Idols of Gods or calendars on the wall can be face to face.
- Do not keep two idols of one god in the temple.
- Place a two-faced Ganesha idol in front of the house. The back of Ganesha indicates the underworld and positivity emanates from his mouth.
- Ganesha's back should not be towards the house, hence place the idols of Ganesha back to back at the entrance gate.
- You can hang the photographs of your ancestors in the south-west corner of the house and if south-west corner of the house is not possible then in the south corner.
