Biggest Cricket Record: In the world of cricket, records are made that no one believes they can achieve. Sometimes a team scores more than 500 runs in a 50-over match, or sometimes a batsman sets the record for the fastest century. Now, a bowler has achieved something that will surprise you. Bhutan's left-arm spinner Sonam Yeshe has achieved something no one has ever achieved before. He has become the first bowler to take eight wickets in a T20 match.
Bhutan's bowler wreaked havoc
The 22-year-old Yeshe achieved this feat in the third T20I against Myanmar in Gelephu on Friday. He took 8 wickets for 7 runs in his four overs, dismissing Bhutan for 45 runs in reply to Bhutan's 127 for 9. Only two Myanmar batsmen managed to reach double figures before Yeshe. It has been a one-sided series. Yeshe has taken 12 wickets in the first four matches of the five-match series.
These bowlers took 7 wickets
Before Yeshe's feat, only two bowlers had taken seven wickets in men's T20 Internationals. Syazrul Idrus took 7 for 8 for Malaysia against China in 2023. Ali Dawood took 7 for 19 for Bahrain against Bhutan in 2025. This has happened only twice outside international matches. Colin Ackermann took 7 for 18 for Leicestershire against Birmingham Bears in 2019. Taskin Ahmed took 7 for 19 for Darbar Rajshahi against Dhaka Capitals in 2025.
Best bowling record among women
The best bowling figures in women's T20Is are 7/0, achieved by Rohmalia of Indonesia against Mongolia in 2024. This is one of four seven-wicket hauls in women's international matches. Frederikke Overdijk took 7/3 for the Netherlands against France, Alison Stocks took 7/3 for Argentina against Peru, and Samanthi Dunukedeniya took 7/15 for Cyprus against the Czech Republic.
