If your Facebook account is several years old, you may have many old posts on your Timeline that you no longer want to keep public. Deleting or hiding each post individually is a time-consuming task. Fortunately, Facebook has tools that can help you manage multiple old posts at once.
How to manage old posts in bulk?
First, open the Facebook app and go to your profile. Then, look for an option like Manage Posts or Activity Log. Here, you can filter and view your old posts and other activities.
You can now select posts from a specific time period using date or other available filters. You can then select multiple posts at once. Once selected, Facebook may prompt you to Delete, Move to Trash, Hide from profile, or other actions, depending on your account and available options.
What's the difference between Delete and Hide?
Delete initiates the removal process and removes the post from your Timeline. In some cases, Facebook may place it in the Trash instead of permanently deleting it immediately, where it can be restored or permanently deleted later.
While Hide from Profile removes the post from your profile timeline, it doesn't mean it's deleted everywhere. The post's visibility and other related options may vary.
Keep these important things in mind:
Before deleting posts en masse, double-check that no important photos, memories, or information are missing. If you're unsure about deleting them completely, consider options like Hide from profile first.
