West Virginia Couple Jailed for Enslaving Adopted Black Children in Shocking Abuse Case

A West Virginia couple known for adopting black children has been sentenced to a staggering 375 years in prison after their horrifying crimes came to light. Jeanie Kay Whitefeather, 63, and her husband Donald Latz, 64, were found guilty of human trafficking, child neglect, and forced labor after subjecting five adopted children to brutal conditions.

Authorities discovered the abuse in 2023 when Kanawha County Police conducted a welfare check. The children were found locked in a cage-like room with no water, forced to sleep on a cement floor, and given only a bucket for a toilet. Investigations revealed the couple had adopted only black children with the intent of keeping them as slaves, forcing them into labor without proper food or care.

During sentencing, the judge condemned their actions, stating that while the court could not show mercy, perhaps God might. The case has sparked outrage, with many calling for stricter adoption regulations to prevent such horrifying abuse in the future.
