What is the connection of Lord Ram with Nepal? Know on what basis PM KP Oli is making this claim

Nepal PM KP Sharma Oli and Sri Ram: Nepal PM KP Sharma Oli has once again claimed that Lord Shri Ram was born in Nepal. Let us know what was the connection of Shri Ram with Ayodhya.

Nepal's Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has once again started a debate on the birthplace of Lord Rama. He has said that gods like Lord Rama, Shiva and Rishi Vishwamitra originated from Nepal. Speaking at a party event organized by the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department of CPN-UML in Kathmandu, Oli once again reiterated that Lord Rama was born in a place which is now Nepal's land. However, this is not the first time that KP Sharma Oli has made such a statement, rather he has said this earlier as well. Let us know on what basis KP Sharma Oli is claiming that Shri Ram is a Nepali.

On what basis is PM Oli making this claim?

PM Oli says that Shri Ram was born in Ayodhya of Nepal. Now let us know what Oli is calling Ayodhya of Nepal. Actually Ayodhya is not the name of any place in Nepal, what Oli calls the birthplace of Ram is the ashram of a sage Valmiki, which is in Thori village of Parsa district of Terai region of Nepal. This is an area adjacent to Bihar in India. Janakpur is also nearby here, which is said to be the birthplace of Sitaji. There is another ashram in Madi of Tichwan in Nepal, which is known as Rishi Valmiki Ashram, he was the one who composed Ramayana. In the year 2020, when KP Oli made the same claim, at that time a Nepali portal Republica Te Nagrik Network tried to test Oli's claims by showing a picture of a map.

Is the real Ayodhya really in Nepal?

In that picture, a place named Ayodhya is shown near the border of Nepal between Kashi, Magadha, Panchal of ancient India. The Saryu river flows through them and the current location of Ayodhya in UP is almost at the same place. According to Oli's claim, Ayodhya should be near the Bihar border. He says that Shri Ram was born in a village near Birgunj in Nepal, which is currently on the India-Nepal border. He also says that the real Ayodhya is in Nepal. In such a situation, even today historians of India and almost the entire world do not believe that Lord Ram was born in Nepal.

Shri Ram's connection with Nepal

Lord Ram and Nepal have a special relationship, especially with the city of Janakpur in Nepal. Janakpur, also known as Janaki Nagar, is considered to be the birthplace of Mother Sita. Sita ji was the wife of Ram ji, so Nepal is called the in-laws' house of Shri Ram. There is also a famous temple dedicated to Sita ji in Janakpur, which is also called Janaki Mandir. It is important for the devotees.
