What should you do immediately if your Facebook account is hacked? Learn the easiest and most accurate recovery steps

In today's digital age, Facebook isn't just a medium for connecting with friends, but has become a hub for our personal memories, business pages, and important information. Having your Facebook account hacked is a nightmare. Hackers often do this to misuse your account, defraud you of money, or steal personal information. If this happens to you or someone you know, it's crucial to take immediate action instead of panicking.

Let us know what immediate action you should take if your Facebook account is hacked:

1. Report on 'facebook.com/hacked' (first step)
If the hacker changed your password and you can't log in:

Open facebook.com/hacked in any browser.

Click on "My Account Is Compromised."

Search for your account by entering your registered mobile number, email or username.

Facebook will give you the option to recover your account using your old password or ID verification.

2. Immediately change the password and log out the hacker
if you still have access to the account or are logged in to a device:

Settings & Privacy > Settings > Security and Login ।

Create a new and strong password by clicking on Change Password.

Go to the "Where you're logged in" section and click "Log Out Of All Sessions." This will immediately disable your account from the hacker's device.

3. Check email and phone number
Hackers often add their email or phone number to the account to block recovery avenues.

Go to Personal Details and check for any unknown email addresses or phone numbers. If you see any, delete them immediately.

Change your email password as well, because if a hacker has access to your email, he can reset the password again and again.

4. Alert friends and contacts:
As soon as your account is hacked, immediately inform your friends through other social media profiles or by calling them. Hackers often pretend to be in an emergency and ask for money or send suspicious links.
