This decision of the apex court will be equally applicable to primary and junior teachers across the country. It will even apply to those teachers who were appointed before the Right to Education (RTE) Act came into force.
The Supreme Court in its decision has said that those teachers who are in job and have more than five years left in their job will also have to pass the TET within two years to continue in the job.
