Fans have always loved watching Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan together on screen. With talks around YRF’s upcoming ‘Tiger vs Pathan’, that excitement has only grown. But long before their onscreen reunion, there was a time when Salman’s brief 7-minute appearance in a film left a lasting impact — even more than Shah Rukh’s full-fledged 3-hour role. That film was ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ (1998), where Salman’s character sacrificed his love for Shah Rukh’s.
Salman Khan, often in the headlines for his real-life relationships — from Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to Sangeeta Bijlani — portrayed a selfless lover on screen in this classic. He played Aman, who falls in love with Anjali (Kajol), unaware that she still loves Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan). Their engagement, marked by the hit song ‘Sajan Ji Ghar Aaye’, remains one of Bollywood’s most memorable moments.
However, as the story unfolds, Aman realizes Anjali’s heart still belongs to Rahul. In one of the most emotional turns of the film, he chooses to step aside, sacrificing his own happiness so the two can reunite.
Despite his limited screen time, Salman’s performance left a deep mark on audiences. His charm and emotional depth earned immense praise, and even decades later, his dance in Sajan Ji Ghar Aaye remains iconic.
