Which app on your phone is tracking your location? Find out in 1 minute

Have you ever wondered which apps on your phone are using your location information? Some apps, like maps, cab booking, and food delivery, may require location access to function properly. But sometimes, apps that don't necessarily need it also have location permissions.

If you're concerned about your privacy, it's important to periodically check which apps can access your location.

How to check location permissions on Android phones

If you use an Android smartphone, first open Settings. Then, go to the Location or Location Services option. This name may vary slightly on different phone companies.

Now tap App Location Permissions or a similar option. Here you will see a list of apps that have location permissions.

After tapping an app, you can change its permissions. Depending on your needs, you can choose options like Allow only while using the app, Ask every time, or Don't allow.

How to find out on an iPhone?
On your iPhone, go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services. This will display all apps with location permission. By selecting an app, you can decide when it will receive location permission.

If an app doesn't need your location, turning off its permission may be a better option.

Which apps need location?
Apps for directions and travel may require location to function properly. Whether apps for social media, shopping, or other apps require location depends on their features.
