Larissa was shocked to see her photo in the voter list

Larissa was shocked when she learned that her photo had been used multiple times on the voter list in Haryana, India. She broke her silence on this via social media and released a video saying, "Friends, I can't believe these people are gossiping. They're using my old photo. I was 18-20 years old at the time. They're claiming I'm Indian to deceive me. What kind of madness is this? What kind of a lover is this? What kind of world do we live in?"

A friend sent Larissa a photo

Larissa claimed that a reporter called her in connection with this claim and wanted to know about it. She said, "He called me at my salon, at my work, wanting to talk to me for an interview, and I didn't answer. He found my Instagram account and called me there. Then another person, who had nothing to do with this, a friend of mine from another country, sent me the picture, which I'm posting here for you who need it."

Nothing to do with Indian politics: Larissa

Larissa further stated in her video, "I have nothing to do with politics in India. My photo was either purchased or downloaded from a stock platform and used without my involvement. I've never even been to India." Finally, Larissa added, "I'm not even a model. I'm a hairdresser." She then jokingly added that she's planning to learn some Indian words to greet her Indian followers.

Who is Larissa Neri?

Larissa Neri is from Minas Gerais, a city in southeastern Brazil. She runs a salon in Belo Horizonte, the capital of Minas Gerais. The photo used in Haryana's voter list was taken by photographer Matheus Ferreiro during a project in 2017. However, the photo, which appeared on several websites, has now been removed.
