Who is Tausif Badshah? Gang Rivalry Behind Chandan Mishra's Murder in Patna ICU?

New revelations have surfaced in the sensational murder case of criminal Chandan Mishra, who was gunned down inside room number 209 of the ICU at Paras Hospital in Patna. The police have now detained Tausif Raza alias Badshah from Phulwari Sharif in connection with the crime. The question on everyone’s mind: who is this Tausif Badshah, and what role did he play in the murder?

Five Suspects in Custody Net
Besides Tausif, four other suspects have been named—Aqib Malik (also from Phulwari Sharif), Sonu, Kalu alias Mustakim, and Bhindi alias Balwant Singh (a resident of Buxar). While Tausif is currently in custody and under interrogation, the police are conducting statewide raids, led by a Special Investigation Team (SIT), to nab the remaining accused.

Murder Linked to Gang Rivalries
According to initial reports, the murder may be linked to an ongoing gang rivalry between Chandan Mishra and the Sheru gang. Chandan, who had over 24 criminal cases registered against him, was previously aligned with Sheru and even operated his criminal activities under the Sheru Gang name. However, their partnership soured during a jail term in Bhagalpur, leading to a split.

Sources suggest that the fallout in Bhagalpur jail led to Chandan poaching shooters from Sheru’s gang to expand his own influence. Allegedly enraged by this, Sheru might have orchestrated the murder, possibly hiring contract killers to eliminate Chandan.

Tausif’s Criminal Background Under Scrutiny
Authorities have also confirmed that Tausif Badshah has a record under the Arms Act. Investigators are now exploring whether he worked as a handler—arranging contract killers for criminals in Patna and beyond—or if he personally carried out such killings.

Police Call It a Supremacy War
Patna SSP Kartikeya Sharma has termed the case a "battle for supremacy." He confirmed that all shooters involved have been identified and that their criminal backgrounds are being examined. So far, only Tausif has been apprehended, and the investigation remains active.

Final Word from Police
Although all signs point to a gang rivalry being the motive, police have not made a definitive statement. They insist that a clearer picture will emerge only after the arrest of all suspects involved.
