Wi-Fi connected but no internet? Fix the problem quickly with these simple steps

Sometimes our smartphone or laptop successfully connects to Wi-Fi, but the internet doesn't work. The screen displays a message saying 'Connected, no internet' or 'No internet access.' This problem could be caused by a router issue, incorrect network settings, or an IP address issue. Here are some easy ways to fix it yourself:

1. Restart the router and modem.
In most cases, this temporary network problem can be fixed by restarting the router. Unplug the router, wait 10-15 seconds, and then turn it back on. This clears the router's cache and resets the connection.

2. Forget Network and reconnect

Go to your phone or computer's Wi-Fi Settings.

Tap the network you're connected to and select 'Forget' or 'Remove'.

Now turn on and off the phone's Wi-Fi once and create a new connection by entering the password again.

3. Turn Airplane Mode on and off.
Turn your phone's Airplane Mode on for 10 seconds and then turn it off. This resets all wireless connections (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, mobile data) on your device.

4. Reset network settings
If the problem persists, go to your phone's Settings > System / General Management > Reset Options. Select 'Reset Network Settings'. This will reset all saved Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and mobile network settings to their default settings.

5. Check the date and time.
If the date and time on your device are incorrect, internet security protocols may be blocking connectivity. Go to Settings > Date & Time and turn on 'Automatic Date & Time'.

If the internet still doesn't work after following all these steps, contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP); it's possible the service is down.
