A deeply emotional incident from Amritsar, Punjab, has gone viral on social media, reigniting debates around trust, marriage, and the misuse of technology in personal relationships. The case revolves around a man who claims that his 15-year-long marriage collapsed after he allegedly caught his wife with another man in a hotel, a discovery he says was made using a GPS tracker installed on his scooter. While the video narrating his ordeal has spread rapidly online, the claims made in it have not been independently verified.

A Story That Shocked Social Media
The viral video features a visibly distressed man, identified as Ravi Gulati, recounting his experience through tears. His voice trembles as he describes how years of suspicion culminated in what he calls the most painful moment of his life. According to Ravi, he married Himani on April 25, 2010, and the couple has children. Like many long-term marriages, he says theirs also faced ups and downs, but he believed compromises were necessary to protect the family.
What makes the story particularly unsettling for many viewers is not just the alleged betrayal, but the emotional toll it appears to have taken on the entire family.
Allegations of a Repeated Incident
Ravi claims this was not the first time such an incident occurred. According to him, in 2018, he had allegedly caught his wife with another man at a hotel. At that time, he says, both families intervened, apologies were made, and promises were given. Keeping his children’s future in mind, Ravi chose to forgive and attempt reconciliation, believing that mistakes could be corrected with time.
However, he alleges that the situation resurfaced in a more devastating way years later.
The GPS Tracker Claim
According to Ravi, on the day of the incident, his wife left home around 3:00–3:30 pm and stopped responding to phone calls. Due to lingering doubts, he had reportedly installed a GPS tracking device on his scooter earlier. When he checked the location, it allegedly pointed towards a hotel.
Ravi claims he immediately closed his shop and rushed to the location, where he says he once again found his wife with another man. In the video, he is heard saying that he had been living under suspicion for nearly a year and had hoped his doubts were unfounded.
Family Reaction and Background
The incident has reportedly shaken both families. Ravi’s father, Parvez Gulati, stated that the matter had been discussed and settled multiple times in the past, even involving extended family members and influential figures. According to the family, meetings were held, apologies were exchanged, and there was hope that normalcy would return.
This time, however, Ravi claims his wife made it clear that she no longer wishes to live with him and wants to return to her parental home. The family has further alleged that the man she was caught with had earlier been introduced to them as a “brother”, and was a frequent visitor to their home.
Online Reactions and Legal Debate
The viral video was later shared on X (formerly Twitter) by journalist and filmmaker Deepika Narayan Bhardwaj, who commented on the broader legal and social implications. Her post sparked intense debate, with some users expressing concern over the potential misuse of laws related to dowry, domestic violence, and maintenance, while others cautioned against drawing conclusions based solely on one side of the story.
The post has since received thousands of likes and reposts, reflecting how emotionally charged and polarising the issue has become.
A Cautionary Note
It is important to note that these are allegations, and no official police statement or court ruling has been cited to confirm the claims made in the viral video. News platforms, including News18 Hindi, have clarified that they do not independently verify the assertions shown in the footage.
More Than a Viral Story
Beyond the online debates, the incident highlights the emotional cost of broken trust, especially in long-term marriages involving children. Whether viewed as a personal tragedy, a cautionary tale, or a trigger for legal discussion, the story has resonated widely because it touches on universal themes of faith, betrayal, and the fragile nature of relationships.
As social media continues to amplify such personal narratives, experts urge restraint, empathy, and reliance on due legal process—reminding audiences that every story has multiple sides, and truth ultimately lies in verified facts, not viral clips alone.
