The Mumbai Police's Anti-Narcotics Cell has launched a major operation against an international drug syndicate allegedly linked to don Dawood Ibrahim.

In a shocking development involving the glamorous world of Bollywood, several names have surfaced, including Shraddha Kapoor, her brother Siddhant Kapoor, and dancer-actress Nora Fatehi. Several prominent actors and celebrities, including Congress leader Baba Siddiqui's son Zeeshan Siddiqui, the late Haseena Parkar's son Alishah Parkar, filmmaker Abbas Mastan, and rapper Loca, have also been implicated in the case. The case relates to lavish drug parties allegedly hosted by Mohammed Salim Mohammed Sohail Shaikh, a key accused in a mephedrone smuggling racket worth approximately ₹252 crore (approximately $2.5 billion). The entire case has been revealed through information recorded in police remand transcripts.

The Mumbai Police Crime Branch has claimed a major breakthrough in a major drug case. The main accused, Mohammed Salim Mohammed Sohail Shaikh, was recently deported from Dubai and arrested. This is the 15th arrest in the investigation, which began with a small raid in February 2024.

Sheikh associated with Dawood Ibrahim syndicate made several explosive revelations

Sources quoting the interrogation and police remand copy said, "31-year-old Sheikh, a resident of Dongri and an alleged close associate of underworld drug lord Salim Dola, who is linked to the Dawood Ibrahim syndicate, made several explosive revelations during interrogation, citing high-profile drug-fueled parties held in India and abroad, which were attended by several Bollywood and influential personalities."

Names ranging from dancer-actress Nora Fatehi to Shraddha Kapoor are included.

According to the police remand copy, they have named Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor and her brother Siddhanth Kapoor, dancer-actress Nora Fatehi, producer Abbas Mustan, and rapper Loka, among others, as attendees and participants. Some prominent politicians and their children are also reported to be involved.

Profits from the drug trade

According to the remand copy, he claimed that these events, often held at high-end venues or personal farmhouses, were funded by drug proceeds and served as networking centers for distribution, with Sheikh handling everything from recruiting traffickers to direct supply. The case is now being jointly investigated by the Mumbai Crime Branch and the Enforcement Directorate, who suspect that profits from the drug trade were funneled into legal channels through hawala networks and real estate investments.

All high-profile people will be questioned in detail.

Crime Branch officials have indicated that in the coming days, all high-profile individuals involved in the case will be summoned for detailed questioning. The investigation has also revealed that Tahir's drug parties extended beyond Mumbai and Goa, with several events held in Dubai and Thailand, where supplies were made through Indian-origin businessmen.
