There is no longer a need to visit crowded Aadhaar Seva Kendras. Aadhaar mobile number updates can now be done at your nearest post office or IPPB access point. This service is available at most post offices across the country, including small and rural branches. Trained IPPB staff guide applicants through the entire process.

No forms, no documents required

To update your Aadhaar-linked mobile number, you only need to share:

• Your 12-digit Aadhaar number

• The new mobile number you wish to link

The process does not require your old mobile number, making it especially useful for people who have lost their SIM or whose number is no longer active.

Instant update through biometric verification

Once the details are provided, an IPPB official will verify your identity using a fingerprint or thumb impression on a biometric device connected to the Aadhaar system. After successful biometric authentication, the e-KYC is completed instantly. There is no need to carry your Aadhaar card or submit photocopies.

SMS confirmation on the new number

After the biometric verification is successful, a confirmation SMS is sent to the newly registered mobile number. From that point onward, all Aadhaar-related OTPs and alerts will be delivered to this updated number.

Minimal service charges

The service is available at a nominal fee fixed by IPPB, with no hidden costs. Since the entire process is digital, it is completed within minutes—without long queues or paperwork.
