After Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu, now Corona has knocked in Gujarat too, so many patients got infected

Gujarat has reported 15 new cases of Covid-19, in which Omicron's BA.2.86 variant has been found. Officials have urged the public to remain vigilant but not panic. After a long gap, 15 new cases of corona infection have been registered in Gujarat. Omicron's JN.1 variant has been found in all the infected patients, which health experts are considering a less serious form. Officials have appealed to the people to be cautious instead of panicking. Let us tell you that there has been a rapid increase in corona cases in Asian countries Singapore and Hong Kong. After that, an increase in corona cases has been seen in other Asian countries as well. Corona cases are also increasing in India.

Additional Director (Public Health) Dr Neelam Patel informed on Thursday that currently 15 patients of JN.1 form of Covid-19 are being treated in the state. He said that this variant is a subtype of Omicron, which first appeared in August 2023.

New cases of corona surfaced in Gujarat

Speaking to reporters in Gandhinagar, Dr Patel said, 13 patients have been found corona infected in Ahmedabad city, one each in Ahmedabad rural and Rajkot. All the patients are being monitored, although none are in critical condition.

He also said that one of the infected persons had recently returned from Singapore and it is believed that the infection came from there. He said, in recent weeks, thousands of new cases of Covid have been reported in countries like China, Thailand and Singapore, and due to international travel, its effect is being seen in India as well.

Government alert regarding corona

Dr Patel said that all 15 patients are being treated at home and none of them needed to be hospitalized. Special COVID wards are ready in the state hospitals, but there is no need to activate them at the moment.

The health department has appealed to the general public to avoid going to crowded places and take necessary precautions if they have symptoms of cough or cold. This is not the time to panic, but to be cautious. The state government is monitoring the situation and the health system has been put on alert.
