Prime Minister Narendra Modi has concluded his two-day official visit to Sri Lanka. During this diplomatic trip, India and Sri Lanka agreed upon seven major bilateral agreements. Upon returning to India, PM Modi had a divine aerial view of Ram Setu (Adam’s Bridge) and shared an awe-inspiring video of it on social media.

While flying back from Sri Lanka, PM Modi captured and shared a video of Ram Setu as seen from the sky. Posting the video on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), he wrote:

“On the auspicious occasion of Ram Navami, I was blessed with the divine sight of Ram Setu from the sky while returning from Sri Lanka. In a divine coincidence, I was also fortunate to witness the Surya Tilak (sun blessing) of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya at the same time. I pray that Lord Ram’s grace continues to shine upon all of us.”

🚄 PM Inaugurates Projects in Sri Lanka and Rameswaram

Before leaving Sri Lanka, PM Modi inaugurated a 128 km upgraded railway line and a modern signaling system, marking a new phase in India-Sri Lanka cooperation on infrastructure. Upon returning to India, he visited Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu, and inaugurated the iconic Pamban Bridge.

🤝 Seven Key Agreements Between India and Sri Lanka

In a detailed discussion with Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, seven agreements were signed covering:

  • Defense cooperation

  • Energy sector development

  • Healthcare and medical services

  • Pharmacopoeia collaboration

  • Digital transformation

  • Economic assistance for the Eastern Province

  • Fishermen-related issues


Following PM Modi’s visit, Sri Lanka released 14 Indian fishermen, a strong gesture of goodwill and successful dialogue between the two nations.

🏅 PM Modi Honored with ‘Mitra Vibhushan’

During his visit, PM Modi was awarded the “Mitra Vibhushan” medal—one of the highest civilian honors from Sri Lanka. This marks the 22nd international award conferred upon him by a foreign nation. PM Modi expressed his gratitude, stating:

“Sri Lanka is not just a neighbor but a traditional friend of India. India will continue to support Sri Lanka in its path to economic recovery and development.”
