Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has approved the detailed project report (DPR) of Jaipur Metro Phase-2 and sent it to the central government. After the DPR is approved by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, the construction work of the project will begin.

The construction work of the project will start after the DPR is approved by the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
Phase-2 of Jaipur Metro was announced in the 2025-26 budget of Rajasthan.
The 42.80 km long project from Todi Mode to Prahladpura will be executed by Rajasthan Metro Rail Corporation, a newly formed 50:50 joint venture between the state and central governments. The corporation will be responsible for managing all existing and future metro projects in Jaipur. Jaipur Metro
Loans are expected from financial institutions for the project, which is estimated to cost around Rs 122.60 billion. After its completion, the section will include 36 stations, two of which will be underground stations. Jaipur Metro
The new corridor is expected to connect major residential, commercial, educational and industrial areas of Jaipur, including the VKI Industrial Area and Sitapura Industrial Area. Jaipur Metro
