BJP Slams Jitu Patwari Over ‘Women of Madhya Pradesh Drink the Most’ Remark, Calls It Insult to Women

Madhya Pradesh Congress state president Jitu Patwari has launched a sharp attack on the state government, alleging that women in Madhya Pradesh consume the highest amount of alcohol in the country. Addressing a press conference, Patwari said that votes were taken in the name of the Ladli Behan Yojana, but today the same women are being pushed into alcoholism. He claimed that Madhya Pradesh has overtaken all states in alcohol consumption.

Patwari further alleged that the state has even surpassed Punjab in terms of drug abuse. He directly blamed Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and former CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan for the situation. “If your son is unemployed, if your son comes home after consuming drugs, then BJP, CM Mohan Yadav, and former CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan are responsible for it. Women of Madhya Pradesh are drinking the most alcohol in the country because of the system they created,” he said.

The Congress leader added that Madhya Pradesh has become a hub of malnutrition, poverty, drugs, and unemployment, which is pushing the youth into darkness.

BJP Hits Back

The BJP strongly condemned Patwari’s remarks. Party spokesperson Ajay Singh Yadav said, “By calling women drunkards, Jitu Patwari has insulted the women of Madhya Pradesh. It is shameful that the Congress has given such a person the responsibility of state president. He should clarify the basis of his claims, otherwise the women of the state will never forgive him.”

Another BJP spokesperson, Neha Bagga, added, “When a leader’s thinking is hollow, he relies on false statistics to defame women. Patwari’s remarks are not just a distortion of facts but also an attack on women’s dignity. It is not women who are intoxicated, but his mentality.”
