Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor has long been admired for his natural acting style and versatility. Recently, producer-actor Boney Kapoor shared an interesting behind-the-scenes story that highlights Ranbir’s unmatched patience and professionalism on film sets. According to Kapoor, the actor once gave as many as 52 retakes for a single scene—and yet did not complain even once.
Ranbir’s Dedication Leaves Boney Kapoor Impressed
Speaking to film critic Komal Nahta, Boney Kapoor recalled an incident from the shoot of Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar (2023), where he played Ranbir’s on-screen father. Kapoor revealed that the actor was completely unfazed by the large number of retakes required for a particular sequence.
“I clearly remember, Ranbir had to give 52 retakes for one scene. There were several reasons behind it, but not once did he complain. He respected the entire team and remained calm throughout. In fact, when I myself got nervous after 13–14 retakes for a shot, Ranbir came to me and said, ‘Until the director is satisfied, we must keep giving our 100 percent.’ His patience and his approach to acting on set were truly commendable,” Boney Kapoor said.
No Complaints, Even During Tough Schedules
Boney Kapoor also praised Ranbir’s discipline and ability to handle difficult shooting conditions. He shared that during the filming of Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, the cast and crew often worked for 16 hours straight, especially during the scorching Delhi summer. To avoid the harsh heat, the team had to shift schedules, shooting overnight from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
“Even in such conditions, Ranbir never once complained. He just adapted and continued working with the same energy. That’s rare to find in today’s time,” Kapoor remarked.
A Reputation for Professionalism
Ranbir Kapoor has consistently been described by filmmakers and co-actors as one of the most reliable stars in the industry. Known for balancing commercial appeal with strong performances, he has carved a niche with films like Rockstar (2011), Barfi! (2012), Sanju (2018), and more recently, Animal (2023).
Boney Kapoor emphasized that beyond his on-screen charisma, it is Ranbir’s grounded attitude and respect for the craft that set him apart. “I have never seen Ranbir raise a complaint on set. He is focused, disciplined, and completely committed to his work,” Kapoor said.
Ranbir’s Upcoming Projects
On the work front, Ranbir Kapoor is gearing up for some of the most anticipated films in Indian cinema. He is currently shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s epic Love and War, scheduled to release on March 26, 2026. The film will see him share screen space with his wife Alia Bhatt and actor Vicky Kaushal, making it one of the biggest star-studded projects of next year.
Additionally, Ranbir will also be seen in Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana, where he is expected to play the role of Lord Ram. Both films have already generated massive buzz, promising to showcase the actor in roles that combine emotional depth with grandeur.
Why This Story Matters
The revelation by Boney Kapoor not only highlights Ranbir Kapoor’s professional ethics but also sheds light on the demands of filmmaking. While audiences often see the polished final cut on screen, very few realize the effort and patience required behind the scenes. Ranbir’s ability to maintain composure through 52 retakes for a single scene reflects his dedication to his craft and his willingness to push himself until the director’s vision is fully realized.
Final Word
Ranbir Kapoor continues to prove why he is regarded as one of the finest actors of his generation. Whether it is adapting to grueling schedules, handling extreme weather conditions, or patiently perfecting a scene after dozens of takes, his professionalism shines through. As Boney Kapoor rightly summed up, Ranbir’s calm and respectful demeanor makes him not just a star but also a true team player—one whose commitment to cinema sets a benchmark for others to follow.
