Manipur Earthquake News Today: Earthquake has shaken India again. Two tremors of earthquake were felt in Manipur on Wednesday. Two earthquakes occurred in Manipur at midnight, which frightened the people. The intensity of the earthquake was measured at 2.5 and 5.2 on the Richter scale. People came out of their homes after feeling the tremors.

According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), on 28 May 2025, at 1:54 am (Indian time), an earthquake of 5.2 magnitude occurred in Churachandpur district of Manipur. The epicenter of this earthquake was at 24.46 north latitude and 93.70 east longitude, with a depth of 40 kilometers.

Shortly after this, tremors of earthquake were felt in Manipur for the second time. According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), a mild earthquake of 2.5 magnitude occurred in the Noni district of Manipur at 2:26 am (Indian time). The epicenter of this earthquake was in Noni district at 24.53 north latitude and 93.50 east longitude, with a depth of 25 km. However, there is no news of the loss of life and property due to this earthquake. But, due to two consecutive earthquakes, people in Manipur panicked and came out of their homes.

Earlier on 8 May 2025 at 10:11 pm (Indian time), an earthquake of 3.6 magnitude hit the Chandel district of Manipur. According to the National Center for Seismology, the epicenter of this earthquake was at 24.19 north latitude and 93.96 east longitude, with a depth of 10 km. This earthquake was of mild intensity and was felt in local areas, but no news of any major damage or loss of life was recorded.

On October 4 also, earthquake tremors were felt in the Manipur-Nagaland border area. Officials had said that the intensity of the earthquake was measured at 3.6 on the Richter scale.
