FASTag passes are being used for fraud; one mistake can empty your account; NHAI issues alert

FASTag passes have been made mandatory for vehicles. Payments are now made only through FASTag or UPI. An important warning has been issued to FASTag users: FASTag users are vulnerable to significant scams. Currently, online fraud is being perpetrated in the name of annual passes. This could result in financial loss.

There are fake websites purporting to promote FASTag. Visiting these websites could result in automatic deductions from your account. The National Highway Authority of India has issued an advisory regarding this matter. Therefore, you should exercise caution when using FASTag.

Vehicle owners are offered numerous offers under the guise of a FASTag annual pass. We're often tempted to believe these offers, but they're completely fake. Fraudsters have created a fake website that looks identical to the real platform. They ask for a payment on this site, which is how they defraud us.

Many of the links that appear when searching on Google are fake. Users click on these links and make payments. These sites ask for your mobile number, registration number, and payment details. This can lead to data theft and even emptying your account.
