A shocking incident took place in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, where a 24-year-old man named Ajay Kushwaha attempted to end his life by setting himself on fire outside his girlfriend’s house. The drastic step was reportedly triggered by emotional distress after his girlfriend stopped speaking to him.

Burned Outside Her House

The incident occurred on Saturday night in Pritam Colony under the Madhoganj police station area. According to reports, Ajay poured petrol on himself and lit the fire right outside the girl’s residence. Neighbors who saw him engulfed in flames immediately called the police. Ajay was rushed to Jayarogya Hospital, where he is being treated for 75 percent burns. His condition remains critical.

Relationship Gone Wrong

Ajay, who works in the furniture business and whose father is a vegetable vendor, is a resident of Sikandar Kampu. He was reportedly in a relationship with the girl for some time. However, following a dispute, the girl broke off communication, which left Ajay mentally disturbed.

Family Alleges Extortion

Ajay’s father has alleged that the girl was demanding money from his son by promising marriage. According to him, the financial pressure had become unbearable for Ajay, pushing him to take the extreme step.

Investigation Underway

The police are currently investigating the matter as a love affair gone wrong. A video of the incident has also surfaced, further fueling public concern. Authorities have assured a thorough probe into all aspects, including the extortion claim made by the family.
