PM Kisan Yojana: Have two people from the same household taken advantage of the scheme? Know in detail

The government is running several schemes to provide financial assistance to farmers. Sources have revealed that benefits under the PM Kisan Scheme are expected to begin in October. However, another shocking information has emerged regarding this scheme. Nearly 1,200 cases have been reported where both husband and wife from the same family have taken advantage of the scheme.

According to government rules, only one eligible farmer in a family should receive benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme. However, during the farmer registration process, it was discovered that some families were receiving benefits under the names of both husband and wife. Therefore, the relevant cases have now been separated for departmental investigation.

Farmer registration for 3.14 lakh farmers completed:
A total of 4.07 lakh farmers have been registered in the district so far. Of these, farmer registration for 3.14 lakh farmers has been completed. During this process, various documents and existing records of the farmers are being verified.

This inspection revealed that both husband and wife in the same family were on the PM Kisan Scheme beneficiary list. Subsequently, the data for the respective beneficiaries was set aside for inspection.

Documents will be re-verified.
The department is now re-verifying the eligibility criteria for the scheme with the documents of the farmers concerned. After the inspection, it will become clear who is eligible and who is taking advantage of the scheme illegally.

If the husband and wife in a family are found ineligible as per the rules or it is proved that taking benefits in the name of both is against the rules, then the name of one beneficiary can be removed from the scheme as per the prescribed procedure.

This process will be crucial for ensuring the accurate list of eligible beneficiaries after the farmer registry is completed. Therefore, if there are any discrepancies in their records and documents, farmers benefiting from PM Kisan must have them corrected in a timely manner.
