The central government is running several welfare schemes for the poor.

The central government operates several welfare schemes for the poor. One of these is the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, under which Ayushman cards are issued. Through this scheme, people can receive free treatment up to five lakh rupees.

You can only avail of this facility after obtaining a card for the scheme. However, you can still benefit from the scheme even if you lose your card or forget it at home. If for some reason you forget to bring your Ayushman card or lose it, you can access free treatment through your registered mobile number (linked to your Ayushman card).

You will need to provide this mobile number. The officer will verify your information using your mobile number and approve you for free treatment.
