Gurugram Tragedy: 13-Year-Old Girl Dies in Accidental Strangulation While Playing at Home

A heartbreaking incident from Gurugram has left the local community in shock, after a 13-year-old girl lost her life in what appears to be a tragic accident while playing at home. The incident took place in Devi Lal Colony under the Sector 9 police station area, where a harmless game turned fatal within moments.

According to reports, the girl, Rani Kumari, was playing with her two younger sisters inside their house. During the play, she tied her mother’s saree to an iron grill and began swinging on it, a common playful activity among children. However, in a sudden turn of events, the saree got tightly wrapped around her neck, leading to strangulation.

The situation escalated quickly, leaving the young girl unable to free herself. By the time family members noticed and rushed to help, she had already lost consciousness due to suffocation. She was immediately taken to a nearby government hospital, where doctors declared her dead.

Rani’s father, Suresh Singh, who hails from Bihar and works as a tailor, lives in a rented house with his family. He shared that both he and his wife were at home at the time of the incident but were in another room and unaware of what had happened. The family, already facing financial challenges, is now devastated by the sudden loss of their daughter.

Police officials reached the spot soon after receiving information and sent the body for postmortem. Preliminary investigation suggests that the incident was accidental. A case has been registered, and further legal procedures are ongoing.

This tragic event serves as a painful reminder of how quickly everyday situations can turn dangerous, highlighting the importance of close supervision when children are playing at home.
