Rujuta Diwekar, who has worked with celebrities like Kareena Kapoor Khan and Katrina Kaif, recently shared that including the right seasonal foods in your diet can naturally improve hair health, digestion, skin glow, and immunity. According to her, millet, dried coconut, and the seasonal vegetable dish undhiyu are ideal for winter.

Millet is considered one of the best grains to consume during winter. It is rich in protein, fiber, iron, carbohydrates, and essential vitamins. Including millet in the form of laddus, rotis, raab, or halwa helps reduce hair fall, improves digestion, and keeps the stomach full for longer, which also supports healthy weight management.

Undhiyu, a popular seasonal dish in Gujarat and Maharashtra, is another food recommended by the nutritionist. Made using a mix of seasonal vegetables, lentils, and root vegetables, undhiyu is highly nutritious and works as a natural prebiotic. It helps improve gut health, reduces bloating and gas, and boosts overall energy levels. Rujuta suggests eating it at least once a week during winter. If undhiyu is not available, a similar dish can be prepared using local seasonal vegetables and lentils.

Dried coconut is the third food on the list and is especially useful during winter lethargy. It is rich in healthy fats, particularly medium-chain triglycerides, which provide quick energy and support fat metabolism. Consuming dried coconut can help fight tiredness, improve skin texture, and add a natural glow, making it an excellent winter snack.
