‘I’m Never Fully Satisfied’: PM Modi Reveals the Inner Drive That Keeps Him Pushing for Change

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that he is never completely satisfied with himself—a mindset he believes is essential for anyone in public life. Speaking in an interview on Sunday, February 15, the Prime Minister explained that a sense of positive restlessness is what constantly pushes him to work harder and aim higher for the country.

In his conversation with Press Trust of India, PM Modi said that the desire to do better for India and its people never leaves him. When asked whether he feels satisfied with the pace of reforms under what he described as the “Reform Express,” he responded candidly that complete satisfaction is impossible for him. According to the Prime Minister, this constant urge to improve is part of his nature and a driving force behind governance.

Reforms Are Ongoing, Commitment Is Unwavering

While admitting that he is never fully content, PM Modi emphasized that the progress achieved through reforms cannot be overlooked. He said reform has always been a firm commitment of his government and that it has been pursued with sincerity and determination. The work, he added, is continuous and evolving.

India Moving in a New Direction

The Prime Minister noted that his government has moved beyond incremental changes and undertaken deeper, structural reforms. He expressed pride in the fact that the country is steadily moving in a new direction, driven by policy clarity, long-term vision, and institutional transformation.

Rising Global Confidence in India

PM Modi also highlighted India’s growing global engagement, stating that recent trade agreements are the result of a strong domestic economy, competitive industries, and a confident national outlook. He pointed out that while attempts at such agreements were made in the past, tangible outcomes were limited.

According to him, since the current government took office, a strong focus on political stability, policy reforms, and clear decision-making has boosted global confidence in India. This has led to increased investment and positioned India as a trusted international partner.

Free Trade Agreements with 38 Nations

The Prime Minister revealed that India has signed Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with 38 countries so far—an achievement he described as unprecedented. He added that negotiations with the European Union have finally resulted in a mutually beneficial agreement. These FTAs span multiple continents and economies, opening major global markets for Indian businesses.
