For England Lions, Chris Woakes took three wickets, George Hill took two, and Farhan Ahmed and Tom Haynes took one wicket each.

England Lions won the toss and chose to bowl on the first day of the unofficial Test match against India A. India A suffered early setbacks in the form of Yashasvi Jaiswal and captain Abhimanyu Easwaran. KL Rahul joined the India A team after the end of IPL 2025 and opened with Yashasvi. England Lions gave India early setbacks, but Rahul handled the innings first with Karun Nair and then with Jurel. After tea, first Rahul completed his century and then Jurel scored a half-century. However, after scoring a half-century, Jurel was bowled by George Hill. Jurel was dismissed after scoring 52 runs with the help of seven fours in 87 balls.
