Karnataka veteran Krishnappa Gowtham has retired from all forms of cricket. He has called time on his career after 14 years in Indian domestic cricket. Krishnappa Gowtham was a member of three top teams in the Indian Premier League, including the Rajasthan Royals. Gowtham was known for his power hitting and powerful off-spin bowling.

Krishnappa Gowtham made his first-class debut in the 2012 Ranji Trophy. He made his debut against Uttar Pradesh, dismissing prominent players like Suresh Raina and Bhuvneshwar Kumar in his very first match. His powerful batting style helped him cement his place in the Karnataka senior team.

The 2016-17 Ranji Trophy season proved to be a turning point in his career, as he took 27 wickets in eight matches. His batting breakthrough came when Gautam scored his first century in a match against Assam.

In his 59-match first-class career, Gowtham took 224 wickets and scored 1,419 runs. In his List A career, he took 96 wickets and scored 630 runs in 68 matches. Krishnappa Gowtham also played one ODI for India, taking one wicket against Sri Lanka. He also played several times for the India A team.

Gautam has also played for the Mumbai Indians, Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow Super Giants, Chennai Super Kings, and Punjab Kings in his IPL career. He took 13 wickets and scored 247 runs with the bat. The pinnacle of his IPL career came when he was signed by the Chennai Super Kings in 2021 for ₹9.25 crore.
