SUSPECTING "BLACK MAGIC", DAUGHTER KILLS MOTHER, STRANGLES HER WHILE SHE SLEEPS

Karnataka Crime News:  A 33-year-old woman allegedly murdered her mother after a fortune teller convinced her that she had used black magic to kill her father. The incident occurred in Tumakuru district, Karnataka. The deceased has been identified as 55-year-old Pushpavati (locally known as Puppavati), and the accused is her daughter Suchitra.

Suchitra, who lived with her husband in the city of Tumakuru, lost her father about 18 months ago. After his death, she consulted an astrologer. The astrologer reportedly claimed that her mother had practiced black magic, which led to her father's death.

Believing this claim, Suchitra went to her mother's house and allegedly smothered her with a pillow while she was sleeping.

After the murder, Suchitra attempted to stage the scene to make it appear natural. She even began funeral arrangements to dispose of the body quickly. However, villagers noticed some suspicious signs and raised doubts about the cause of death.

Police registered a case

The villagers contacted the police, who arrived at the scene before the funeral could take place. During preliminary interrogation, Suchitra reportedly confessed to the crime. A murder case has been registered at the Kyatsandra police station.

The police are also questioning Suchitra's husband to find out if he had any knowledge of the plan.
