The investigation into the murder of 26-year-old Pune real estate businessman Ketan Agarwal has revealed several new and shocking allegations. Ketan's fiancée, Siya Goyal, allegedly took nearly 1 crore rupees from him for wedding preparations and shopping. It is alleged that she gave this entire sum to her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary, to strengthen her financial situation.

According to investigating agencies, 20-year-old Siya Goyal and 22-year-old Chetan Chaudhary had long conspired to murder Ketan. They were arrested on June 18 for pushing Ketan off the cliff of Lohgarh Fort. Police claim that they had also planned a long-term marriage plan to avoid suspicion after the murder.

Chetan was financially weak

According to sources, Chetan was financially weak and had told Siya that it would take him about three years to become financially independent. Therefore, the two planned that Siya would hold off on marrying for a few years after Ketan's death. They believed that with time, things would calm down and they would be able to get married.

The investigation has also revealed important information about the method used to plot the murder. According to police, the two men had set a specific signal before the incident. The plan was to have Siya bend down under the pretense of drinking water or tying her shoelaces. Upon receiving this signal, Chetan was to push Ketan off the cliff. Investigators say the other purpose of this signal was to ensure Siya remained at a safe distance during the push, preventing Ketan from catching her as she fell.

Call detail records (CDRs) obtained by the police are also strengthening the investigation. A phone conversation between Siya and Chetan occurred approximately 34 minutes before the incident. Investigating agencies suspect this was the last conversation before the murder, confirming the plan.

I wasn't excited about going to Bali - Cab Driver

According to IANS, another crucial piece of information in the case has come from the statement of the driver who was booked to drop Ketan and Siya from Mumbai airport for their pre-wedding trip to Bali.

Driver Vaibhav Jadhav told police that Siya did not seem enthusiastic about the trip. He also stated that Siya and her brother Sahil had a heated argument along the way. Ketan and other family members later joined the trip, but the trip to Bali had to be cancelled when Ketan's passport was not found at the Mumbai airport.

The police are currently investigating all aspects of the case. The claims made so far are part of the investigation and will be confirmed based on evidence presented in court.

Siya and Chetan's police custody extended till July 3

According to PTI, a court in Vadgaon Maval in Pune district has extended the police custody of Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary, accused in the Ketan Agarwal murder case, until July 3. The prosecution told the court that some crucial aspects of the case remain to be investigated, including the precise identification of the crime scene and the recovery of Ketan's missing passport.

The police claim that the two accused went to Lohagarh Fort to reconnoitre and rehearse the scene before the murder. Meanwhile, the defense questioned the police action, calling Siya Goyal's arrest illegal.

Siya's brother claims Ashutosh Srivastava is not the family's lawyer

According to ANI, Sahil Goyal, brother of Siya Goyal, an accused in the Ketan Agarwal murder case, has claimed that his family neither authorized nor appointed advocate Ashutosh Srivastava to represent them. Sahil said he has no knowledge of Ashutosh Srivastava's claims.

Meanwhile, Ashutosh Srivastava's junior lawyer, Priyanka Baradkar, declined to comment before the hearing. Advocate Vipul Dushing, meanwhile, said he was appointed by Siya's family and that the defense would present its arguments in court.

India has better laws for women than for men: Amaal Malik

According to ANI, singer and music composer Amaal Malik has strongly reacted to Ketan Agarwal's death. He said that if he had been told off earlier, his life could have been saved. He added that while India has stricter laws protecting women than men, those laws should not be misused.

Amaal Malik questioned why, if there were any objections to the marriage, they hadn't stopped it before the engagement. Amaal wrote in a post about his ex, "The amount of effort they put into killing him is insane. All it took was for her to say no, 'My heart belongs to someone else, and I love another man.'"
