Kia Seltos Mileage Revealed: This SUV Delivers Up to 19.4 kmpl, Takes on Creta and Grand Vitara

The latest generation of the Kia Seltos has grabbed attention with its newly revealed fuel efficiency figures. While the company had earlier kept mileage details under wraps, the official ARAI-certified numbers are now out—and the diesel variants clearly lead the pack. The diesel manual version offers an impressive mileage of 19.4 kmpl, making it one of the most fuel-efficient options in its segment. Meanwhile, the diesel automatic variant delivers around 17.8 kmpl, which is also quite competitive.

Among petrol options, the turbo-petrol variant paired with a 7-speed DCT gearbox returns a mileage of about 17.5 kmpl. On the other hand, the same engine with an iMT gearbox delivers slightly lower efficiency at around 15.6 kmpl. The naturally aspirated petrol engine variants, whether manual or automatic (iVT), offer a balanced mileage of approximately 16.5 kmpl. As always, it’s important to note that these figures are based on standard testing conditions, and real-world mileage may vary depending on driving habits and road conditions.

Under the hood, the Seltos comes with three engine options: a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 115 hp, a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine delivering 160 hp, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine generating 116 hp. Buyers can choose from multiple transmission options, including manual, automatic, CVT (iVT), iMT, and DCT, depending on their preference for performance and convenience.

In terms of competition, the Seltos continues to go head-to-head with popular SUVs like the Hyundai Creta and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. With its combination of performance, features, and fuel efficiency, it remains a strong contender in the mid-size SUV segment.

Looking ahead, Kia has also confirmed plans to introduce a hybrid version of the Seltos around 2027. This upcoming model is expected to compete with hybrid SUVs in the market, further strengthening the brand’s position in India’s rapidly evolving automotive space.
