“Lalu Should Understand” — Purnea MP Pappu Yadav Defends Tej Pratap Amid Party Expulsion Over Relationship

Bihar’s political landscape has been stirred by the recent controversy involving Tej Pratap Yadav, son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, following the revelation of his long-term relationship on social media. In a surprising move, Lalu Yadav expelled Tej Pratap from both the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the family, citing a breach of moral and familial values.

However, Purnea MP and veteran leader Pappu Yadav has come out in Tej Pratap’s support, stating that the issue is a personal matter and should not have led to such drastic action.

“He Was Honest About It” – Pappu Yadav’s Response

Reacting to the development, Pappu Yadav said:

“This is a personal matter, but I want to say that Lalu Yadav should understand — his son has made an honest declaration of his relationship. When someone doesn’t hide their truth, the family should accept it.”

Drawing a comparison to former U.S. President Bill Clinton, he said,

“Clinton admitted his mistake and the country respected him for his honesty. Likewise, Tej Pratap hasn’t done anything wrong by revealing his relationship.”

“Politics Shouldn’t Be Mixed with Everything”

Pappu Yadav also advised against politicizing personal matters.

“Politics isn’t right in every aspect of life. The issue of whether there was a divorce or not is personal. When a son openly declares love and marriage, it should be accepted.”

His comments come after Tej Pratap Yadav took to social media claiming he was in a relationship with Anushka Yadav and had married her. However, he later claimed his account was hacked and disowned the post.

Lalu Yadav's Stern Action

Despite the confusion, Lalu Yadav made his position clear on Sunday afternoon through a social media statement, where he wrote:

“Neglecting moral values in personal life weakens our struggle for social justice. The elder son’s public behavior and irresponsible conduct do not align with our family values.”

He further announced Tej Pratap’s six-year suspension from RJD and disowned him from the family, stating that he would have no role in either the party or family affairs going forward.
