LPG Shortage: Five-kilo small cylinders will now be available without address proof, find out who can benefit

The ongoing war between Israel, America, and Iran in the Middle East is affecting many countries around the world, and this has led to a shortage of LPG gas in India as well. Meanwhile, the supply of crude oil has been affected. In light of this, the Essential Commodities Act has been implemented for LPG cylinders in the country. Cylinder delivery in cities is taking place 25 days after booking, and in villages, after 45 days.

5 kg cylinder will be available without address proof.
However, the government has simplified the rules for the sale of 5 kg LPG cylinders. Now anyone will be able to buy a small gas cylinder without any address proof. According to the Petroleum Ministry, this step has been taken for migrant laborers and those people who do not have a permanent address in the city. Now customers will have to go to the authorized distributor and just show any one of their photo-IDs. After this, they will be able to get a 5 kg cooking gas cylinder immediately.

Who will benefit?
Students, bachelors, and migrant workers living on rent in other cities can take advantage of this government facility. If you are a permanent resident, you can also get a small cylinder filled and keep it as a backup.
