Fuel supplies remain disrupted due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia, leaving people facing gas shortages. Meanwhile, India has increased the supply of five-kilogram LPG cylinders and accelerated the expansion of piped natural gas (PNG) connections.
According to media reports, the government
said in an official statement on Sunday that more than 1.3 million such LPG cylinders have been sold since March 23, with daily sales now exceeding 100,000. This step was taken to increase LPG access for migrant workers and low-income consumers.
Cylinders surrendered:
4.24 lakh new PNG connections were also provided during this period. Furthermore, over 30,000 PNG consumers surrendered their LPG connections. Domestic LPG supplies also remained stable. Over 5.2 million cylinders were distributed on April 11th.
