Maiya Samman Yojana: Women to Receive ₹2,500 Before Holi, Check Eligibility and Benefits

The Jharkhand Government has taken another major step toward strengthening the financial independence of women under the Mukhyamantri Maiya Samman Yojana. Under this welfare scheme, eligible women receive ₹2,500 every month as direct financial assistance. Ahead of Holi, the government has announced that the next installment will be credited soon.

More than 51 lakh women registered under the scheme are expected to benefit. In addition, the government has approved a new facility allowing women beneficiaries to avail bank loans of up to ₹20,000 without any collateral, further supporting self-employment and small business initiatives.

Big Relief Before Holi

State Welfare Minister Chamara Linda confirmed that the upcoming ₹2,500 installment will be transferred to beneficiaries’ bank accounts before Holi. Women who could not receive the previous installment will get ₹5,000 at once, covering both pending and current payments.

The minister also clarified that the government is reviewing the beneficiary list to remove ineligible applicants who were mistakenly registered under the scheme.

Loan Facility for Women Beneficiaries

Following a meeting between the State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) and the state government, banks have agreed to provide collateral-free loans up to ₹20,000 to eligible women aged 18 to 50 years. These loans can be used to start small businesses, and the EMI will be deducted directly from the monthly ₹2,500 assistance.
