Major terror plot busted ahead of January 26; 4 terrorists arrested with 2.5 kg RDX from Punjab

Punjab News: Punjab Police has achieved a major success ahead of Republic Day, arresting four Babbar Khalsa handlers. Two and a half kilograms of RDX was recovered from them.

Ahead of Republic Day, police in Hoshiarpur, Punjab, foiled a major plot. They busted a terrorist module linked to the banned Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), a Pakistani ISI-backed organization. Four dangerous terrorists were arrested in the operation. An IED containing approximately 2.5 kg of RDX was recovered from them.

Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said the arrested terrorists have been identified as Diljot Singh, Harman Singh alias Harry alias Hari, Ajay alias Mahira, and Arshdeep Singh alias Arsh Kandola. All of them are residents of the Rahon area of ​​SBS Nagar district. Police also recovered two pistols from their possession.

Plot to launch major attack on Republic Day foiled

DGP Gaurav Yadav stated that this terrorist module was being operated by US-based Babbar Khalsa International handlers. Preliminary investigations revealed that the recovered IEDs were intended to be used to carry out a planned terrorist attack coinciding with the upcoming Republic Day celebrations.

BKI handlers were giving instructions from America

BKI handlers in the US were directing these terrorists, and they were provided with explosives by Pakistan's ISI. This gang was designed to disrupt the peace of Punjab and carry out targeted attacks. Police are currently interrogating the four terrorists and are also gathering information about their other associates.

He said a detailed investigation is underway to establish the forward and backward links in this case. Sharing details of the operation, Hoshiarpur Senior Superintendent of Police Sandeep Malik said that based on intelligence, a joint operation by Hoshiarpur Police and CI Jalandhar teams arrested four suspects and recovered an RDX-based IED and two pistols from their possession.
