Murder Plot Against Businessman in Delhi Foiled; Key Shooter of Kaushal Chaudhary Gang Arrested, Portugal Link Exposed

The Delhi Police Crime Branch has foiled a major criminal conspiracy with the arrest of Kuldeep Singh (22), the main shooter and alleged mastermind of the notorious Kaushal Chaudhary gang. Kuldeep was planning to murder a prominent businessman in Burari to create fear and establish criminal dominance in the capital.

A special Crime Branch team led by DCP (IPS) Harsh Indora apprehended Kuldeep near Dwarka Sector 17 after laying a strategic trap. He attempted to flee upon spotting police but was overpowered. At the time of arrest, he was riding a stolen scooter. Police recovered a PX-30 automatic pistol along with a large cache of live ammunition.

Conspiracy Planned From Abroad

Investigations revealed that the murder plot was orchestrated by gangsters operating overseas. The key handlers have been identified as Gurdeep alias Paji, currently based in Portugal, and gangster Pawan Shokin. Their objective was to expand organized crime operations in Delhi, particularly extortion rackets, by asserting dominance through targeted killings.

Police further disclosed that weapons for the planned crime were sourced from Ambala, while some arms consignments were routed to Prayagraj as part of a wider distribution network.

History of Extortion and Firing Incidents

Kuldeep Singh has a serious criminal background. He allegedly opened fire in Hoshiarpur while demanding an extortion amount of ₹5 crore. He is also accused of firing shots and issuing threats in the Bhalsa Dairy area of Delhi. The stolen scooter used at the time of arrest was traced to Muradnagar.

Turned to Crime After Father’s Murder

Kuldeep, a second-year BA student, reportedly had academic ambitions but was drawn into the criminal world after his father was murdered in a property dispute in 2019. Following the incident, he dropped out of college and established links with gang members.

According to police, he received operational instructions from foreign handlers via encrypted communication platforms such as Telegram and Signal.

The arrest is being seen as a significant success for the Crime Branch in disrupting an emerging international gang-run extortion network operating in the national capital.
