'...My child left me', Lieutenant Colonel wife bids farewell to the pilot who lost his life in a helicopter crash

The last rites of pilot Rajveer Singh Chauhan, who died in the Uttarakhand helicopter crash, were performed today (Tuesday, June 17) amid moist eyes.

The last rites of the late Rajveer Singh were performed according to Hindu customs at Moksha Dham in Chandpole area of ​​Jaipur, the place of work of the late Rajveer Singh.

Along with family members, relatives and neighbours, a large number of army officers and soldiers were also present at the funeral. Late Rajveer Singh's wife, Lieutenant Colonel Deepika was also present at the cremation ground in army uniform.

Wife Deepika is currently serving in the army as a lieutenant colonel, while husband Rajveer Singh retired from the army as a lieutenant colonel about one and a half years ago. Wife Deepika was walking in the front carrying her husband Rajveer's photo in her hand during his last journey to the cremation ground.

She stood near the pyre the entire time. Tears were continuously falling from her eyes. She saluted her husband in army uniform and bid him a final farewell. Sometimes she looked at her husband's picture and sometimes at the pyre. While leaving the cremation ground, she was saying- Rajveer, my child, has left me and gone away.

At the cremation ground, she was seen caressing her husband's pyre with her hands. Seeing wife Deepika so emotional, everyone's eyes became moist. Pilot Rajveer Singh was cremated by his nephew Vishu.

Earlier, army officers paid their respects to him by offering flowers on his mortal remains. Pilot Rajveer Singh Chauhan's mortal remains reached his home this morning. Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, cabinet minister of Rajasthan's Bhajanlal Sharma government, paid his tributes to him at his home.

After this, his body was brought to the cremation ground. Slogans like 'Rajveer Singh Amar Rahe', 'As long as the sun and moon exist, Rajveer Singh's name will remain' and 'Indian Army Zindabad' kept on echoing at the cremation ground.

Lieutenant Colonel Rajveer Singh died two days ago in a helicopter crash in Kedarnath, Uttarakhand. He was flying the helicopter as a pilot. His helicopter met with an accident due to bad weather.

Pilot Rajveer Singh had become a father of twins just 4 months ago. On Father's Day, his newborn children lost their father. Rajveer Singh Chauhan had also flown for many days in the Siachen Glacier area. He had more than 2000 hours of flying experience. He had a love marriage with Lieutenant Colonel Deepika. Deepika was junior to him.
