The Gujarat government has taken a significant step toward strengthening girls’ education in the state. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the Namo Laxmi Yojana has been launched to ensure that no girl is forced to drop out of school due to financial difficulties.
The scheme targets a critical stage in education, as many girls discontinue studies after primary school. To address this issue, the government is offering financial assistance of up to ₹50,000 to girl students studying from Class 9 to Class 12.
Namo Laxmi Yojana: How Much Financial Help Will Girls Receive?
Under this scheme, eligible girl students studying in schools affiliated with the Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) or CBSE will receive a total assistance of ₹50,000 over four years. The amount is transferred directly to the bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
Class 9 and 10

Total assistance: ₹20,000

₹5,000 per year (₹500 per month for 10 months) based on attendance

Remaining ₹10,000 paid after passing the Class 10 board examination
Class 11 and 12

Total assistance: ₹30,000
-
₹7,500 per year (₹750 per month for 10 months)

Remaining ₹15,000 paid after passing the Class 12 board examination
Eligibility Criteria for Namo Laxmi Yojana
To avail the benefits of this scheme, students must meet the following conditions:

Must be a permanent resident of Gujarat

Must have studied Class 1 to 8 in a government, aided, or RTE-recognized private school

Annual family income should not exceed ₹6 lakh

Must maintain regular school attendance, as monthly payments depend on it
How to Apply for Namo Laxmi Yojana (Step-by-Step)
The application process is simple and handled mainly through the school, so students do not need to visit any government office.

Collect the application form
Obtain the Namo Laxmi Yojana form from your school management or class teacher. -
Prepare required documents
Attach the following documents:-
Aadhaar card of student and parents

Residence certificate

Income certificate
-
Bank passbook photocopy (preferably mother’s account)

Class 10 marksheet (if applicable)

Submit the form to school
Submit the completed form and documents to the school office. The school’s nodal officer will upload the details on the official portal. -
Collect acknowledgement
Take a receipt or acknowledgement after submission for future reference and status tracking.
