Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become the first world leader and politician to surpass 30 million subscribers on YouTube, marking a significant milestone in global digital outreach. According to recent rankings, he leads the category by a wide margin.
Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, who ranks second in subscriber count among political leaders, reportedly has only about a quarter of PM Modi’s subscriber base. The Indian Prime Minister’s subscriber count is also said to be more than seven times that of US President Donald Trump.
The development comes shortly after another social media milestone, with PM Modi becoming the first global leader to cross 100 million followers on Instagram.
Instagram Milestone and Global Rankings
PM Modi joined Instagram in 2014 and has steadily expanded his presence on the platform. His current follower base exceeds 100 million, more than double that of US President Donald Trump, who has approximately 43.2 million followers.
Other global leaders trail significantly behind:
-
Prabowo Subianto – 15 million followers
-
Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva – 14.4 million followers
-
Recep Tayyip Erdoğan – 11.6 million followers
-
Javier Milei – 6.4 million followers
Reports indicate that the combined Instagram followers of the next five world leaders remain lower than PM Modi’s individual count.
Indian Political Leaders on Instagram
Within India, Yogi Adityanath ranks second in follower count with approximately 16.1 million followers. He is followed by Rahul Gandhi, who has around 12.6 million followers.
