People in many states of southern and eastern India are unlikely to see any relief from heavy rains. The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rainfall alert for these states. Meanwhile, continuous snowfall in the mountainous regions of northern India has led to the spread of cold winds in the plains.

The mild cold has knocked in many states including Rajasthan. Heavy rains are likely in many states including Karnataka. The weather is now expected to remain clear in the entire National Capital Region (NCR) including the capital Delhi. From today till 23rd October, there may be rain at some places in western Madhya Pradesh. There may be rain today in eastern Madhya Pradesh. Light to moderate rains may occur in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand between 23rd and 26th October. Whereas, there may be rains in Haryana, Delhi, Punjab and Rajasthan around 24th-25th October. There is a possibility of rains at some places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during 23rd to 26th October. There is also a rain alert in Telangana today.

Today the weather is likely to remain mainly dry in both the eastern and western parts of the state. Almost all the districts of the state have been included in the green zone. Now there is almost no possibility of rain in most parts of Rajasthan. The sky may remain clear in the border districts like Barmer, Bikaner and Jodhpur. Due to this, people may have to face heat during the day in these districts.
