The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions has changed the rules related to UPS.

Now if an employee completes 20 years of regular service, he will get the right to full pension. The demand for reducing the old limit was being raised by the employees for a long time. Earlier the limit was this many years

Earlier the rules for getting pension were a bit strict. In the Unified Pension Scheme, the right to get full pension was available only when an employee completed 25 years of service. That means even if someone worked for 24 years, he did not get the full benefit.

For this reason, employee organizations have been demanding for a long time that the pension limit be reduced. They said that it is not easy for everyone to work continuously for 25 years. Now the government has accepted their demand and reduced this limit to 20 years. This will provide great relief to the employees.

These employees will benefit

This decision of the government will directly benefit those government employees who come under the Unified Pension Scheme. Till now, 25 years of service was necessary to get full pension. But now the full benefit will be available only after working for 20 years. This will have the biggest impact on those employees.

Those who were unable to complete 25 years of service due to some reason. Like health problem, family responsibility or taking retirement in between. Now they too will get full pension guarantee after retirement. This is a big gift for lakhs of central employees before Diwali.

These facilities will also be provided

Employees who choose UPS will get some other facilities along with pension. If an employee becomes disabled during the job, he will get the benefit of pension. And if he dies during service, his family will get a secure pension.

If the family wants, they can choose either the CCS Pension Rules or the UPS rules. This means that the employee and his family will get financial security not only after retirement but also in case of any untoward incident during the job.
