Paan Shop Owner Arrested for Supplying Drugs After Wife Reports Abuse and Illegal Activity

Police have arrested a paan shop owner in Mahalaxmi Nagar after his wife submitted video evidence alleging drug trafficking, domestic violence, and threats from her husband and in-laws.

According to the police, the accused, identified as Buddha Kiran, operated a paan shop that was allegedly being used as a front to supply marijuana and smack to students from nearby colleges and hostels. Investigators revealed that drugs were also weighed and packaged at the couple’s residence.

The woman stated that she had repeatedly objected to her husband’s illegal activities. She alleged that despite marital vows and assurances of support, she was threatened by her husband and his family whenever she protested.

The situation escalated on February 4, when the accused allegedly assaulted her brutally, causing a serious head injury. Following the incident, the woman approached the Police Commissioner through her lawyer, Dr. Rupali Rathore, and submitted video evidence detailing the abuse and illegal drug trade.

Acting on the Commissioner’s instructions, the Lasudia police conducted a raid on the paan shop and the accused’s residence. A large quantity of smack and marijuana was recovered, leading to the arrest of Buddha Kiran.

During interrogation, the accused reportedly confessed that he sourced the drugs from Dharmendra of Sanawad and other suppliers operating in Chhoti Gwaltoli. Further investigation is ongoing to identify and arrest other individuals involved in the supply chain.

Police officials stated that strict action will be taken against all those found connected to the case.
