PM SVANidhi Scheme 2026: Street Vendors Can Get Loans Up to ₹50,000 and a New Credit Card Facility

The government’s PM Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi) scheme has entered a new phase with a stronger focus on credit access, digital payments and the financial security of street vendors. The restructured scheme has been extended until March 31, 2030, with a target of benefiting 1.15 crore street vendors, including 50 lakh new beneficiaries.

The scheme is particularly useful for people running small roadside businesses such as fruit and vegetable stalls, food carts, tea stalls, small shops and other street-vending activities.

What Is PM SVANidhi?

PM SVANidhi was launched in June 2020 to provide collateral-free working-capital loans to urban street vendors whose businesses were affected by the economic disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The scheme has now evolved beyond simply providing loans. It also focuses on digital financial inclusion, social-security access, entrepreneurship and helping vendors become part of the formal financial system.
