Punishments for many minor offences will be completely abolished, making day-to-day business operations easier and reducing the fear of criminal prosecution for technical errors or trivial mistakes. -

In 2023, a similar legislative amendment decriminalised 183 minor offences across 42 central laws managed by 19 ministries and departments. Jail terms for these were replaced by fines or were removed entirely. -
