Punjab Anganwadi Sahayika Recruitment 2026: 6,110 Posts, Selection Without Written Exam

The Department of Social Security and Women and Child Development Punjab has announced a major recruitment drive for Anganwadi Worker and Anganwadi Assistant (Sahayika) posts. A total of 6,110 vacancies will be filled across the state. The most important highlight of this recruitment is that candidates will be selected without any written examination, purely on the basis of merit.

This recruitment offers a significant employment opportunity for women who want to work in government services while staying in their own village or ward.


Total Number of Vacancies

The recruitment includes two categories of posts:

  • 1,316 Anganwadi Worker posts

  • 4,794 Anganwadi Assistant (Sahayika) posts

In total, 6,110 positions will be filled under the scheme.


Educational Qualification

The required qualifications are:

  • Minimum 10th pass from a recognized board.

  • For many centers, 12th pass candidates will be given preference.

  • Some specialized Anganwadi centers may require graduation.

  • Candidates must have studied Punjabi in 10th class and should be able to read and write the language.

  • Applicants must be female residents of the same village or ward where they apply.


Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 18 years

  • Maximum Age: 37 years

Reserved categories such as SC/BC will receive age relaxation as per government rules.


Selection Process (No Written Exam)

The selection procedure is completely merit-based.

  1. Merit List Preparation

    • Prepared on the basis of marks obtained in 10th and 12th class.

  2. Document Verification

    • Candidates whose names appear in the merit list will be called for document verification.

There will be no written test or interview, making the process simpler for applicants.


Application Timeline

  • Application Start Date: 11 March 2026

  • Application Last Date: 20 March 2026

Applications are being accepted district-wise and city-wise.


When Will the Selection List Be Released?

  • Provisional merit list: Expected within 30–45 days after applications close.

  • Final selection list: Likely by late May or early June 2026.

  • Document verification: Will begin immediately after the final list is released.

Candidates will not receive individual letters or calls. The result can be checked through the following methods:
