The Renault Duster is set to make a strong comeback in 2026, bringing back a name that once defined the rugged SUV segment in India. However, this time, the vehicle arrives with a sharper design, advanced technology, and a more premium appeal, while retaining its core identity.
Renault describes the new Duster as a “Butch & Balanced” SUV—a combination that reflects its tough exterior and refined features. Unlike many modern crossovers that prioritise urban comfort, the Duster continues to focus on real SUV capabilities. With an impressive ground clearance of 212 mm, it stands out as one of the most capable offerings in its segment.
In terms of design, the SUV has evolved without losing its signature look. The boxy silhouette, muscular wheel arches, and bold stance give it a commanding road presence. Contemporary elements such as Y-shaped LED daytime running lights, a redesigned front grille, and connected tail lamps enhance its modern appeal.
The new Duster is expected to measure over 4.3 metres in length, giving it a more planted and spacious feel. Inside, the cabin has been significantly upgraded with a focus on technology and comfort. It features a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Google integration, along with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Premium additions like ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, and a powered tailgate bring it in line with current market expectations. The SUV also offers over 500 litres of boot space, ensuring practicality for long journeys.
Under the hood, the Duster is likely to be powered by a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 163 PS, making it one of the more powerful options in its class. A 1.0-litre turbo-petrol variant is also expected for daily use. Additionally, Renault may introduce a strong hybrid version in the future, along with the possibility of an all-wheel-drive (AWD) configuration.
With its blend of rugged capability, modern features, and strong performance, the Renault Duster 2026 aims to reclaim its position as one of India’s most loved SUVs.
